Ontario International Airport will begin offering daily non-stop flights to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Southwest Airlines is scheduled to start flying that route June 5, giving Ontario International its 26th nonstop route, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
“We could not be happier with the new Southwest service to the greater Washington, D.C., area,” said Alan D. Wapner, board president, Ontario international Airport Authority, in the statement. “The addition of this daily nonstop service demonstrates the carrier’s strong confidence in our facilities, and is recognition of the increasing demand for air travel through our Southern California gateway.”
Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier operating at Ontario International, accounting for more than one-third of the airport’s passenger volume, according to the statement.
