California’s unemployment rate fell to 6.2 percent in July, essentially unchanged from June, the state reported Friday.
State employers added 80,600 non-agricultural jobs last month. California has added more than two million jobs since the recovery began in February 2010, according the state Employment Development Department.
Year-over-year, California’s unemployment rate was down 1.1 percent in July.
The U.S. unemployment rate was unchanged last month at 5.3 percent, the EDD stated.
