Stater Bros. customers on Wednesday will receive balloons and Lofthouse Cookies in honor of the company’s 80th anniversary.
The promotion, which is scheduled to last from 3-8 p.m., will take place while supplies last at all of the company’s 168 stores, according to a statement.
Stater Bros., is the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest private employer based in the Inland Empire, with approximately 18,000 workers.
Brothers Cleo and Leo Stater opened their first store on Aug. 17, 1936, in Yucaipa.
Stater Bros., which is based at San Bernardino International Airport [the former Norton Air Force Base] was named to the Fortune 500 11 years ago. The company recently opened a store in Simi Valley, its first in Ventura County.
