Construction has begun on a Lexus dealership in Temecula.
Temecula Valley Lexus will be built on 4.7 acres at 42081 DLR Drive, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The dealership, which will cover nearly 54,400 square feet, will be owned by the family that owns and operates Temecula Valley Toyota. It will include rooftop parking, sales, service, parts, and storage.
“We are thrilled to bring Lexus to the Temecula Valley,” said Tom Rudnai, president of Temecula Valley Toyota, in the statement. “This has been a long process, but we thank the city and community for their ongoing support.
“We look forward to opening our doors with a brand new state of the art facility in the fourth quarter of 2021.”
Construction is expected to take 11 months, at which point the Lexus dealership will likely become one of Temecula’s largest sales tax generators.
“We are ecstatic to welcome Temecula Valley Lexus to the community, and proud that a local dealership is maintaining ownership,” Mayor pro tem Maryann Edwards said in the statement.
Temecula is clearly a good choice. Murrieta’s still wide open Triangle would be better as a star location, but other plans are underway for that land.
