Temecula to open new rec center

Temecula will host a grand opening of the Margarita Recreation Center March 23.

A ceremony, which will include demonstrations, children’s activities, giveaways, and refreshments, is scheduled to be held from 9:30 a.m to noon, according to a statement on the city’s website.

This facility at 29119 Margarita Road has a warm-water six-lane pool, a dance/fitness studio, a multipurpose room and a classroom.

The pool is zero-depth, meaning it has a sloped entrance instead of stairs and ladders, and is wheelchair accessible.

“The opening of the new Margarita Recreation Center is a momentous occasion,” said Mayor James “Stew” Stewart in the statement.”  We are committed to providing our community with high quality public amenities which will raise the quality of life here in Temecula. I encourage our residents to come to our open house and see everything this facility has to offer.”
