Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM 590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.

This week Ed introduces listeners to gubernatorial candidate Neel Kashkari in a vibrant conversation about the Republican candidate’s vision of rebuilding California, and his strategies of improving the economy and education. Ed asks the tough questions that listeners deserve the answers to, and Kashkari delivers them in plain English.

Kashkari, who spent three years as the Assistant Secretary of Treasury under the Bush administration from 2006 – 2009 gained experience in politics, which he will bring to office if elected. As part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) Kashkari, 40 years old, is proud of the role he played in helping to stabilize the economy and protecting taxpayers’ money.

During the interview Kashkari share the four components he believes will change the economy of California, which includes reigning in regulation, canceling the high speed rail project, bringing manufacturing back and tapping into the oil and gas sector. For those extreme environmentalists who want to protest the drilling of oil, Kashkari has a few choice words for them.

When it comes to education the candidate has a clear vision of how to reform the system by giving control back to teachers and parents, and reinforces the notion that an educated population is key to the benefit of the state as a whole. He postulates the importance of highlighting vocational training as well.

Tune in to listen to their spirited conversation about topics that relate directly to us, the taxpayers.
