Starting this winter, United Airlines will begin nonstop flights between Palm Springs International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
The flights, scheduled to begin Dec. 18, will operate five to seven times a week depending on the month, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.
Flights will leave Newark Liberty at 8:30 a.m. and arrive in Palm Springs at 11:45 a.m. The return flight will leave Palm Springs at 2 p.m. and arrive at Newark Liberty at 10 p.m.
All of the above times are local.
“We’re delighted to see United Airlines continue growing at Palm Springs International,” said Harry Barrett, Jr., executive director of aviation at Palm Springs International, in the statement. “These additions reflect our commitment to thoughtful, strategic growth.”
This will be the first time in more than five years that United Airlines will conduct regular flights between Palm Springs International and the greater New York metropolitan area.
Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines currently operate flights between Palm Springs and Newark Liberty, according to the statement.
