Volaris marks 10 years at ONT

Volaris recently marked a decade of service at Ontario International Airport.

The Mexico-based airline has served more than 900,000 passengers at Ontario International since it began operating one flight two days a week between there and Guadalajara International Airport, according to an Ontario International statement.

Since 2018, Volaris has operated daily round trips between the two airports. Last year, the airline accommodated 153,012 passengers between Ontario and Guadalajara, 31 percent more than in 2022.

“Volaris has been a valued Ontario International partner for a decade, and we are thrilled to join our dear friends in celebrating their success,” said Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority board, in the statement.

To mark the 10th anniversary, Ontario airport and Volaris officials held a celebration April 10 at Gate 207 in Terminal 2, in which departing passengers were greeted with food, music and a raffle for Volaris flight tickets, according to the statement.
