Wilkes wins CSUSB mentoring award

Reneisha Wilkes, coordinator of Cal State San Bernardino’s EOP Renaissance Scholars Program, has received the university’s Outstanding Professional Academic Advisor Award for her work mentoring students, according to a statement on the university’s website.

The annual award is given to a non-faculty advisor who demonstrates caring, commitment, empowerment, inclusivity, integrity, and respect in their dealings with students. Wilkes was nominated by students who described the impact she has had on their academic careers, and how she has helped them grow personally.

The award selection was reviewed by staff, faculty and a student representative.

Wilkes has worked at Cal State San Bernardino for nearly nine years. In that time she has has coordinated the Renaissance Scholars Program under the leadership of Veronica Ramirez Amerson, director of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) since 2022, according to the statement.
