OC contractor put in charge of CSUSB project

An Irvine contracting firm will oversee the expansion and renovation of Cal State San Bernardino’s Performing Arts Building.

Rudolph & Sletten has been selected general contractor and construction manager of the $84 million project, according to a statement.

Phase one will be the construction of a 106,000 square-foot addition to the Performing Arts Building, which is on the San Bernardino campus. The second phase will include 13,000-square-feet of the renovation of the Performing Arts Building and some deferred maintenance on that structure.

Work is expected to start next year and be completed in the fall of 2024.

When finished, the Performing Arts Building will have a 500-seat performing arts theater, 7,000-square-feet of lobby and reception space, 15,000-square-feet of theater arts instruction space, 11,800-square-feet for music classes and 8,300-square-feet of administration space.

Rudolph & Sletten has completed 13 projects in the Cal State system. This will be the first project on the San Bernardino campus, according to the statement.
