Riverside swap meet is sold

The Rubidoux Drive-In Theatre and Swap Meet in Riverside has been sold.

United Flea Markets bought that entity from the De Anza Land & Leisure Corp. in Los Angeles for an undisclosed sum, according to a statement.

The Henderson, Colo.-based company has considered buying that swap meet for several years, said Rob Sieban, president, chief executive officer and co-owner of United Flea Markets.

“De Anza … has a long and impressive track record in the industry,” Sieban said in the statement. “We’re coming into a firmly established business with a loyal following. We’re looking forward to building upon their successes while positioning the theatre and swap meet for the next 50 years.”

The Rubidoux Drive-In is at 3770 Opal St. Swap meet hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

United Flea Markets owns and manages nine swap meets in eight states, mostly in the south.  The Rubidoux Drive-in attraction is its first California property, according to the statement.
