California’s unemployment rate fell to a record low of 4.1 percent in September, according to data recently released.
State employers added 13,200 non-agricultural jobs during the month, raising the state’s total jobs gain to more than three million since the recovery began in February 2010, the state Employment Development Department reported.
California’s non-agricultural payroll jobs totaled 17.2 million last month.
The state’s unemployment rate was 4.5 percent in September 2017.
U.S. unemployment fell to 3.7 percent in September, as the economy added 134,000 non-agricultural jobs.
Four of the state’s 11 industrial sectors reported job gains month over month, while six lost jobs and one remain unchanged.
In September, Riverside and San Bernardino counties had unemployment rates of 4.4 percent and 3.8 percent, respectively.
