Riverside County has received a $488,635 federal grant that it will use to help local veterans find work.
The money, from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, will support the Riverside County Veterans’ Employment-Related Assistance Program, according to a statement.
The program is being administered by two entities, the county’s economic development agency and its workforce development board. It will serve 100 veterans and eligible spouses in different categories, including service members who were recently separated, disabled veterans, War on Terror campaign veterans and Gulf War II-era veterans.
The purpose of the assistance program is to help county veterans make the transition to civilian employment.
