The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has donated $100,000 to the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ Alliance For Education, money that will help pay for STEM Schools program for another year.
Specifically, the money will be use to assist the Cultivating Innovation portion of the STEM program, according to a statement.
Recent tribe donations have helped 12 elementary schools develop STEM learning spaces. San Manuel has donated close to $1.6 million to San Bernardino County schools to help prepare students for careers.
With the tribe’s latest donation, 16 elementary schools will be able to create STEM learning spaces to strengthen and enhance STEM learning at the kindergarten through sixth grade levels.
STEM educates in four disciplines: science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
