Morongo Casino donates to local youth

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa recently donated $128,643 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass.

The money, which will help pay for community youth programs, was raised in July during which casino patrons were asked to donate spare change from their winnings to charity, according to a statement on the tribe’s website.

The campaign was a response to the coin shortage caused by COVID-19. Tribal officials presented the check on March 11.

“We are simply overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our guests during these challenging times to help local youth through Morongo’s community coin donation program,” said Morongo Tribal Chairman Robert Martin in statement.

“We want to thank all of our guests who participated in this effort to support local families and children who receive services from the Boys and Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass.”
