Gause receives special recognition

Gause named Riverside’s new city clerk

Donesia Gause has been named Riverside’s city clerk.

A 21-year municipal government employee, Gause was most recently city clerk in Carson, an elected position, according to a statement on Riverside’s website.

Gause, who has also worked for the cities of Long Beach, Baldwin Park, Compton and Newport Beach, specializes in strategic planning, project management, election oversight, budget administration, records management and community relations.

In Riverside, Gause will be responsible for putting together the city council agenda and all of its supporting documents and staff reports. She will also oversee local elections and distribute passports.

“The city clerk’s office serves a vital function in our local government,” said Mayor pro tem Jim Perry in the statement “Donesia Gause demonstrated throughout the interview process that she is uniquely qualified for this post.”

Gause will report directly to the city council. She is scheduled to begin work Monday.
