Riverside County has closed the COVID-19 vaccination site at Tahquitz Canyon High School and replaced it with one at nearby Alessandro High School in Hemet.
The new location will be open for up to four weeks so those who received their first dose at the Tahquitz site will be able to receive their second dose at the Alessandro site, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Shots will be administered in the gymnasium, which is across the street from Jacob Wiens Elementary School, 935 E. Campus Way. County health officials will soon contact those who need their second dose about making an appointment.
More than 1.1 million doses have been administered to Riverside County residents through the county-operated sites and clinics run by community partners.
Anyone 16 years old or older can be vaccinated, although those who are 16 and 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and receive the Pfizer vaccine.
To be eligible, the individuals must work, live or attend school in Riverside County, according to the statement.
