Riverside County is shutting down its COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Beaumont and Menifee, as it moves away from large fixed treatment facilities and into smaller operations run by mobile teams.
The Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community and Recreation Center in Beaumont is scheduled to close Saturday, the Heritage High School clinic in Menifee on May 28, according to a statement on the county’s website.
As of Tuesday, an estimated 15,650 vaccines have been administered at Chatigny since it opened two months ago. At Heritage, nearly 56,000 doses have been administered since that location opened earlier this year.
“Both of these locations have served their communities well, and tens of thousands of residents have been given their vaccine by dedicated and professionals working there,” said Dr. Geoffrey Leung, the county’s public health officer, in the statement. “The Perris Union High School District and the city of Beaumont have been a great community partner.”
After May 28, the Moreno Valley Mall clinic, which can vaccinate several thousand people a day, will be the only fixed-site operated by the county.
OptumServe is scheduled to open a clinic this week at the Promenade Temecula, 40820 Winchester Road. That clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
Nearly two million vaccinations have been administered in Riverside County, by county-run clinics and private agencies, according to the statement.
