UC Riverside has admitted a record number of freshmen for its fall 2021 semester.
34,671 freshmen are scheduled to attend classes, a year-over-year increase of nearly 2,000, when the fall semester begins Sept. 23, according to a statement on the university’s website.
UC Riverside will also welcome the most California students – 29,004 – of any of the nine UC campuses.
“I am gratified to see that UCR continues to serve as a leading access point to the University of California for residents of the state, and I am looking forward to welcoming our newest Highlanders to campus in a few weeks to engage and connect with the entire UC Riverside community in-person,” said Emily Engelschall, the university’s interim associate vice chancellor for enrollment services, in the statement.
Transfer admissions at UC Riverside – 9,236 – for the fall semester were nearly identical to last year, according to the statement.
