RivCo seeks help with drawing supervisor borders

Riverside County is asking for public input regarding the redrawing of its supervisorial districts.

Redistricting, which California counties are required by law to do every 10 years, is based on population changes accounted for in the 2020 Census, according to a statement on the county’s website.

“Fair and equal representation is a cornerstone of our democracy,” said Supervisor Karen Spiegel, board chair, in the statement “Board members work on behalf of Riverside County residents to set policy on county services. It’s critical to hear from our residents throughout the entire process.”

A meeting of the Advisory Redistricting Commission was held on Aug. 18. That meeting, the first several, is available at www.rivcotv.org.

Community members may draw their proposed boundaries on that site. Dates of future meetings were not released.
