After a one-year absence, Apple Valley on Saturday will again host its annual community cleanup day.
Residents may participate individually or join a group to pick up trash around the community.
“If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to volunteer and help our community, here’s your chance,” said Mayor Curt Emick. “Join your Apple Valley neighbors for a day of fun, community partnership, and volunteerism, as together we help clean up Apple Valley.”
Town officials are accepting registration forms from service organizations, schools, churches, clubs, businesses, teams, and individual volunteers. Teams will be given supplies and assigned an area to clean, and participants will also receive a commemorative t-shirt and lunch, while supplies last.
Sponsors include Apple Valley Choice Energy, CalRecycle, Waxie Sanitary Supply, Apple Valley Pizza Factory, and the Mojave River Watershed Group.
To register visit applevalley.org/cleanup or call (760) 240-7880.
Also on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to. 2 p.m., sharps, televisions, computers, and other household hazardous materials will be accepted at the Town’s HHW Collection Facility, 13450 Nomwaket Road.
