The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has donated $2.2 million to San Bernardino, money the city will use to pay for law enforcement vehicles, park upgrades and a mobile veterinary clinic.
The agreement provides $1.1 million for the veterinary clinic, $1 million for upgrades renovations to Seccombe Lake Park, and $120,000 for new police patrol vehicles, according to a statement posted Tuesday on the tribe’s website.
“The city of San Bernardino deserves a safe community and access to wellness activities for residents and families,” said Ken Ramirez, the tribe’s chairman, in the statement. “It is an honor to partner with our neighboring community to provide additional resources and access to activities that strengthen the city.”
This is the second consecutive year the tribe has given a major grant to San Bernardino. In April 2021, the tribe donated $1.5 million to help improve and expand Eastvale’s animal shelter, pay for animal services.
“The grant from San Manuel will help us continue to put the shine back in Seccombe Lake Park and our downtown,” said San Mayor John Valdivia in the statement. “We will enhance public safety and provide a greater level of service to our pet owners and their pets.”

Thank you San Manuel i still have high hopes for our city if ontario fontana and rialto can renovate their fities i pray that our mayor Valdivia will allocate the money for what it is suppose to go and not in our officiaks pockets i voted for Valdivia hoping for change. That is a great tax write off for the tribe. And that is great that the animal shelters are being helped but what about the roads that lead to the casino? Most roads are worst than a third world country road. The homelessness encampments all around the 210 freeway? Yes, it’s great they are contributing to the community but a wrong community. Our little paw patrol got more help than their human friends?
