Moreno Valley has opened Santiago Park, the city’s 33rd park.
Hundreds of residents joined Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the city council to the March 23 opening ceremony, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“Moreno Valley’s parks serve as the beating heart of our city, Gutierrez said in the statement, “They’re places where the community can gather, celebrate milestones, take a walk, and spend a beautiful day outside.”
Located at 24731 Tiger Avenue, Santiago Park includes a playground, basketball courts, picnic areas and a walking trail. It also has a fitness center that can accommodate up to 84 exercises.
Santiago Park is the result of a partnership between the city and Meritage Homes, which has developed communities in Moreno Valley.
