Mt. San Jacinto College has broken ground on a STEM building that will be developed on its Menifee campus.
The two-story Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics structure will feature laboratory and computer-based instructional areas, according to a statement.
The $50 million project will cover nearly 42,000 square feet. It is expected open in 2024.
“This project will truly have a lasting impact on our students, some of whom will be the STEM leaders of tomorrow,” said Roger Schultz, Mount San Jacinto’s superintendent and president, in the statement. “We have a lot happening right now at the Menifee Valley Campus.”
The project will be paid for with revenue from Measure AA, a facilities bond approved by school voters, and Prop. 51, which state voters passed in 2016 to assist community colleges, according to the statement.
