ONT nearly back to pre-pandemic passenger levels

ONT loosens restrictions on non-travelers

Ontario International Airport is allowing non-travelers to meet air passengers at the gate or spend time with them as they prepare to depart.

ONT+ is a free service that allows non-traveling guests to obtain an online visitor pass which allows them to enter Transportation Security Administration checkpoints and access passenger terminal after security protocols have been completed, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

The program gives non-travelers access to terminal and airport services not available since before 9/11.

“We all remember the excitement of being able to meet arriving family and friends as they get off the plane,” said Dean Brown, Ontario International’s public safety administrator, in the statement. “ONT+ is a way to bring back some of that experience from decades ago, in a safe and secure manner.”

Non-travelers can visit www.flyontario.com/ontplus and fill out an online application to obtain an ONT+ pass. The application must be filled out within seven days of the visit.
