Temecula has received $3.4 million in public funds that it will use to pay for traffic improvements.
The grant originated with the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a program that seeks to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on public roads, according to a statement on the city’s website.
It is being administered by the California Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, which received 434 applications, 282 of which were granted. Temecula’s grants will pay for traffic signal upgrades as well as safety upgrades for pedestrians and cyclists.
