The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has approved raises for some county department heads.
The board Tuesday voted 3-1 in favor of the pay hikes after making changes to the original proposal suggested by the county’s human resources department, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Board members also voted to extend a formula that determines supervisors’ salaries.
Supervisors are currently paid 80 percent of what a Superior Court judge is paid. The revisions would give the supervisors a slight pay hike, according to the report.
The county sheriff, district attorney, auditor-controller, treasurer-tax collector and assessor/county clerk/recorder, all of which are elected to four-year terms, will all receive pay hikes.
Rank-and-file county employees have received pay hikes in recent years. Pay for elected department heads was last adjusted six years ago, according to the report.
