Ontario International Airport is predicting a seven percent year-over-year increase in passenger traffic during the upcoming July 4 weekend.
Nearly 107,000 air travelers are expected to pass through Ontario International from June 30 through July 5, a 13 percent increase from pre-pandemic 2019, when Independence Day fell on a Thursday, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
“Ontario is setting a new pace for airports across California as we experience consistent year-over-year increases in passenger levels,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.
The Authority, which oversees daily operations at Ontario International, last month predicted that 1.8 million passengers will use the airport this summer, a 7.1 percent increase compared with 2022.
The airport’s summer season started Memorial Day Weekend and will last through Labor Day, Sept. 4.
