Mayor Grace Garner will deliver Palm Springs’ State of the City address on Oct. 17 at the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Annenberg Theatre.
The event, hosted by the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, will begin with an awards ceremony and a video presentation highlighting the city’s accomplishments during the past year, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Tickets are $80, which includes a reception at 5 p.m. at the Annenberg Theatre, 101 Museum Way. Free seats for the presentation will be available for residents wishing to forego the reception.

This year’s award recipients are:
* Former Council member J.R. Roberts, president of the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation, and the members of the Plaza Theatre Foundation Board [Community Leadership Award].
* Andy Mills, Palm Springs police chef [Community Appreciation Award].
*.Oak View Group [Community Development Award].
* Lili Rodriguez, artistic director, Palm Springs International Film Festival [Emerging Leader Award].
The State of the City will be broadcast live on Palm Springs’ YouTube channel and throughout the month of October on Palm Springs Community Television.
