San Bernardino County is installing two electric vehicle charging stations in the unincorporated community of Bloomington.
The stations at seven-acre Ayala Park, 17909 Marygold Ave., will be able to service up to three vehicles at a time and are expected to be ready by early November, according to a statement on the county’s website.
One year ago, the county began its Electric Vehicle Charging Initiative, which expands access to charging stations countywide. That program installed five charging facilities at the San Bernardino County Government Center campus at Third Street and Mountain View Avenue.
“As electric vehicle car sales continue to rise in this region, our county leadership is making it possible for more residents to access the environmental and economic benefits of this new technology,” said Brendon Biggs, the county’s public works director, in the statement.
At the end of last year, there were a little more than 37,000 zero-emission on the road in San Bernardino County, and that number is expected to grow, according to the statement.
