Another Stater Bros. for Ontario

Another Stater Bros. for Ontario

Stater Bros. will open a store on Dec. 13 in Ontario.

The 47,500-square-foot facility at 930 N. Haven Ave. will anchor The Collection, a neighborhood shopping center developed by Lewis Retail Centers in Upland, according to a statement.

The store will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week. It will employ 171 people.

A grand opening ceremony featuring the Chaffey High School Jazz Band is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. A ribbon-cutting will take place, and Stater Bros. Charities will donate a total of $30,000 to six local non-profit organizations: Unidos Por La Musica, Chaffey Band Boosters, the Ontario Police Department Explorers, Hope Through Housing Foundation, West End YMCA, and Frontsight Military Outreach.

The store will open for business immediately after the ceremony.

“Stater Bros. is very proud to bring this new and modern market to serve the bustling community of Ontario,” said Pete Van Helden, the company’s chief executive officer, in the statement. “With this store, I believe we’ve created a grocery shopping venue to match the community of people who live and work in the surrounding area.”

The San Bernardino supermarket chain is one of the largest private employers based in the Inland Empire. It operates nearly 170 stores – the Haven Avenue-Fourth Street location will be its seventh in Ontario – and it employs an estimated 18,000 people, according to the statement.
