Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
Ed’s guest this week is Adrian Moore, vice president of the Reason Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes libertarian principles, free markets and the rule of law. Ed enters an intense and dynamic debate with Moore in regards to their differing opinions about military strategy in the Middle East. Tune in to hear their opposing views.
In addition, Ed reads a Facebook post by Iraq war veteran Nick Powers who sends his own warning to ISIS, after he witnessed horrific videos of the human atrocities terrorists are inflicting on the innocents. Ed shares his opinion on Powers’ outraged post which has since gone viral.
The gruesome decapitation of American journalist James Foley by terrorists this week and displayed on YouTube until the website brought it down, shocked and enraged Americans. President Obama made a brief speech condemning the murder and flew back to his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard. Ed undoubtedly has an opinion about the lack of action on the president’s part and surmises he probably has no clue how to proceed.
Ed turns his attention to that of Ferguson, MO and the fact that the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder made a house call to the Brown family, and in a press conference drew the line proclaiming that he stands with the people of Ferguson and understands their mistrust of the police. Ed shares his disapproval over those remarks and the negative message it sends to law enforcement agencies. He also reminds listeners that Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi still sits in a Mexican prison while there has yet to be a visit from Eric Holder to his mother in Florida.
Ed closes his show with a touching tale of two individuals that will highlight the importance of responsible parenting, which is apparently so lacking in this country.
Catch Ed Hoffman, host of The Main Event, on air this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with encore presentations at 9 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m.
