Chu secures conservation funds for Rancho Cucamonga

Rep. Judy Chu, D-Claremont, will present a $1.6 million check to Rancho Cucamonga to help the city with its conservation efforts.

The money, which Chu secured on behalf of the city, will go toward the Cucamonga Canyon land conservation project, according to a statement.

A ceremony is scheduled to be held from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at Morgan Ranch Trailhead, 5000 Skyline Road, Rancho Cucamonga.

Phase I of the project will include construction of the Cucamonga Canyon trailhead and trail connector to existing trails in San Bernardino National Forest. The funding secured by Representative Chu is critical to the conservation of land in and around the future trailhead and Cucamonga Canyon, according to the statement.
