Rancho Cucamonga and the Quakes reach lease agreement

Rancho Cucamonga has signed a 15-year lease with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, assuring that the team will remain at LoanMart Field.

The Class-A minor league team – a member of the California League and an affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers – has produced more than 60 major league players since it began playing in Rancho Cucamonga in 1993, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Rancho Baseball LLC and secure the Quakes’ home in Rancho Cucamonga for another 15 years,” said L. Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga mayor, in the statement.

“The Quakes have brought decades of joy and excitement to our community, and this agreement ensures their legacy continues.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The lease agreement means construction can begin immediately on the improvements needed for LoanMart Field to meet new MiLB facility requirements by 2025, according to the statement.

Besides the Dodgers, the Quakes have been affiliated with the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Angels – then known as the Anaheim Angels – during their time in Rancho Cucamonga. They’ve been a Dodgers affiliate since 2011.
