Riverside has scheduled a public meeting to discuss upgrades to South Main Street, one of the most traveled corridors in the Northside neighborhood.
The South Main Complete Street Project will cover Main Street between Third Street and Highway 60, and be paid for with a federal Safe Streets for All grant, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The improvements, part of the Northside Specific Plan, will include:
Wider sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the street, easier-to-see crosswalks, extended curbs, speed feedback signs, pedestrian signals, and lower speed limits, according to the statement.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. May 21 at the Salvation Army Riverside Corps, 3695 1st St. For more information, and to register, visit: qrco.de/SouthMainSt_OptIn .
