Sarpong named Kaiser Fontana COO

Richard Sarpong is the new chief operating officer at Kaiser-Permanente Fontana Medical Center.

Sarpong has more than 15 years experience as a hospital executive, most recently, as safety and quality officer for Kaiser Permanente San Bernardino County, according to a statement released by the health care provider.

In Fontana, Sarpong is in charge of hospital operations, working with physician and nursing leaders to support quality, patient safety and strategic initiatives.

He began work Aug. 2.

“I’m honored to step into this role at Fontana Medical Center and serve alongside people who are committed to improving the lives of our members and community,” Sarpong said in the statement.
