A High Desert hospital is accepting patients covered by Kaiser-Permanente health insurance.
Kaiser Permanente San Bernardino County has agreed to provide physicians from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, according to a statement released by the medical insurance provider.
Sound Physicians, a partner at St. Mary Medical Center like Kaiser Permanente, is providing overnight coverage.
“We are pleased to expand our high-quality health care in the High Desert,” said Ruby Gill, senior vice president with Kaiser Permanente and its area manager in San Bernardino County, in the statement. “This organized effort with Providence St. Mary Medical Center ensures continuity of care throughout the hospital stay of our members.”
Kaiser Permanente serves nearly 700,000 members in San Bernardino County. More than 13,000 physicians and staff care for patients at two hospitals and 20 medical office buildings throughout the county, according to the statement.
