Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market. Ed delivers intelligent radio with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
For his year-end show, Ed welcomes back favorite guest Scott McAffee of Don’s Bicycles in Redlands. Ed will begin the show with audio of Justice with Judge Jeanine, wherein Judge Jeanine Pirro unleashes a tirade against those who have demonized the police over the past several weeks, including New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, Attorney General Eric Holder and even the President himself. You’ll hear recent soundbites from all of these people that serve as evidence of their prejudice toward law enforcement.
Of course, you’ll also hear audio of the so-called “peaceful” protestors in New York City chanting what has become the mantra of the anti-police movement: “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.” It’s upsetting to hear, because this is what ultimately led to the execution-style murder of two Brooklyn police officers last weekend. Regardless, it’s necessary for the media to continue re-playing this footage because people must not forget that is the crux of this movement: a climate of unapologetic hatred for our protectors.
“The mayor of the city of the New York doesn’t protect his own police department,” Judge Jeanine says, and Ed and Scott heartily agree. If you have strong feelings on race baiters like Al Sharpton and you believe Mayor DeBlasio has blood on his hands for turning his back on the brave men and women of the NYPD, you don’t want to miss this week’s show.
Ed and Scott will also discuss many of the top news stories of 2014, including:
Lifting the Cuban embargo – “Normalizing relations with Cuba was a dumb thing to do,” Scott says. Find out why.
The Sergeant Bowe Berghdal trade – We traded five Taliban leaders for one deserter, and we may never know all the reasons why. This is a more disturbing story than many people would like to admit.
The Sony hacking at the hands of North Korea – Ed paraphrases Newt Gingrich, who in effect said, “We just lost the first round in the international cyberwar, and people underestimate what they did.”
The missing Malaysian airliner – Ed says, “Those things are designed to be lighter than air. Even if it drifted slowly to the bottom of the ocean, something will break off and float to the top – and it still hasn’t.” Hear Ed and Scott’s theories as to why this story has “just gone away.” One of the possibilities is quite fascinating!
The Republican wave – On November 4, voters sent the message that they want change they really can believe in this time – and as Ed said, they should see that movement through by voting in an electable Republican in 2016. If you’re on the hard right and no one is conservative enough for you, you need to hear this week’s show.
The rise of ISIS – Until race relations with law enforcement took over the news, this was the biggest story of 2014. Ed will criticize the President’s handling of ISIS terrorism this year, and discuss the sad prognosis for the young people who have never lived in an America where a President exercises “peace through strength.”
