Passenger activity at Ontario International Airport rose slightly in February.
Traffic rose .55 percent during that month compared with February 2014, according to Los Angeles World Airports’ monthly report on passenger traffic at Ontario International.
In raw numbers, 287,939 passengers passed through Ontario International in February compared with 286,362 passengers one year before.
“We’re pleased to see a slight [traffic] increase in February, although January through March is typically a slow period,” said Jess Romo, manager of Ontario International, in a statement. “It’s good news since we’re only two months into the year.”
International traffic also grew during the second month of the year.
Ontario International’s two international carriers, AeroMexico and Volaris, served 7,337 passengers in February, up 91.5 percent year-over-year, the report stated.
The growth in Ontario International should continue. Aeromexico announced recently that it will add flights to Guadalajara starting in April.
Los Angeles World Airports, better known as LAWA, is the city of Los Angeles agency that owns Ontario International and Los Angeles International airports., as well as several smaller airports in greater Los Angeles.
