On The Move

Beau Yarbrough, regional education and politics reporter for the San Bernardino County Sun, has been named Print Journalist of the Year by the Los Angeles Press Club.

Yarbrough, whose work also appears in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and the Redlands Daily Facts, won for newspapers with a circulation of less than 50,000, according, to a report in the Sun.

The newspaper described Yarbrough as “the driving force” in a lengthy investigation into the Rialto Unified School District.

That investigation found that the district was distributing Holocaust denial literature to eighth grade students, and that as a result many students ended up believing the Holocaust didn’t happen, the report stated.

“It’s gratifying to see our Los Angeles News Group journalists recognized by their peers,” said Michael A. Anastasi, news group vice president and executive editor, in a statement. “This is a wonderful capstone to a great year of local journalism.”
