Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday Morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!

Ed begins this week’s show with election news, starting with Donald Trump’s foreign policy speech in Washington, D.C. He plays audio of a moment that even Trump’s critics can get on board with; tune in to the show to hear it. Ed also pontificates on a foreign policy strategy that involves “sharing,” and it’s not what you think. “It’s not like Communism,” he says. “It’s bartering, and it takes someone with business experience like Trump to understand it.” If you’re intrigued, tune in to hear more.

Next, we talk about the big development of the week: Ted Cruz’s unprecedented stunt to pull attention away from Trump by announcing Carly Fiorina would be his running mate. “For those of you who don’t know,” Ed says, “it’s very unconventional for a candidate to pick a running mate before getting the nomination. I think he’s putting her in a bad position and it made her look stupid.” If you feel the same way, tune in to this week’s show to hear someone who agrees.

In the second half, Ed and Sergeant Joey Jones from the Boot Campaign encourage everyone to register for the upcoming Push-Ups for Charity event on May 21. It will take place at Ed’s business, Wholesale Capital Corporation in Moreno Valley, and everyone is invited. Ed will do a live recording of the show at 9:30 AM, and you can be there! After the show wraps up: “We’re going to have police officers, firefighters, a barbeque, a hot dog truck, a bouncy thing for the kids and some booths,” Ed says. “If you can’t make it that day to do push-ups, go on WCCcharities.org or EdHoffman.net to donate. You can donate $25, or $125,” he says. “Whatever you can afford.”

“It sounds like a carnival for a cause!” Joey says. Joey is CEO of the Boot Campaign as well as a regular military analyst guest on Fox News Channel; he will be onsite that day to greet people and thank them for coming out. On this week’s show, you can hear Joey explain what the Boot Campaign does to help wounded veterans regain their independence through college scholarships, housing, career guidance, and even marriage support. “Some of them have told us we saved their marriage,” Joey says. He tells the story of one couple whose child drowned in a tragic accident, and explains how the Boot Campaign was able to provide them with critical support that helped their family to heal.

The Boot Campaign helps veterans who are wounded physically with lost limbs, critical burns and other life-altering injuries, and it also supports veterans whose wounds are less visible, i.e. PTSD. This is Ed’s #1 cause, and he hopes everyone will come to the May 21 Push-Ups for Charity event to support this incredible organization. It’s going to be a fun, family-friendly and patriotic day!
