City to host town hall by telephone

Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez is scheduled to host a telephone town hall meeting March 29.

The city will use the call-in “talk radio” format so residents can either ask questions or listen for as long as they like, according to a statement on the city’s website.

This will be the first time Moreno Valley will host such an event by telephone, a format considered to be convenient for most city residents.

The town hall, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., will be broadcast simultaneously in English and Spanish, with questions and answers to be presented in both languages.

“All of our lives are so busy, it’s difficult to try to squeeze in one more appointment,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “The telephone town halls will make it easy as possible for residents to hear about what is going on in our city, ask questions and air their concerns.”

Residents may register by emailing [email protected] and providing their name and phone number. Registration will close at noon March 29.
