Gwendolyn Rodgers has been named Humanitarian of the Year by the San Bernardino Black Culture Foundation.
Rodgers, a San Bernardino resident, member of the San Bernardino City Unified School District board and a long-time community activist, received her award Sept. 8 during an event at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino, according to a statement on the foundation’s website.
The foundation gives out awards annually to “unsung heroes” who perform outstanding volunteer work in the community, according to the statement.
