Construction has begun on two filling stations in the Coachella Valley that will be owned and operated by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.
The Agua Caliente Fuel stations will be located at the northeast corner of East Palm Canyon and Monty Hall Drive in Cathedral City, the other at the northeast corner of Lawrence Crossley Road and Dinah Shore Drive in Palm Springs, according to a statement on the tribe’s website.
Both are expected to open next summer. The tribe has operated a similar facility in Rancho Mirage since 2021.
The Cathedral City facility will include 24 fueling positions, six fueling lanes, and a 1,000-square-foot fuel attendant building.
The Palm Springs station will feature a 9,500-square-foot convenience store with nearly 3,000 square feet of gaming space. That space will include 90 gaming machines, 24 fueling stations, a 625-square-foot fuel attendant building, and 12 EV charging stations.
“We are pleased to offer convenient Agua Caliente Fuel locations in Cathedral City and Palm Springs, in addition to our existing location in Rancho Mirage,” Tribal Chairman Reid D. Milanovich said in the statement. “The construction of the new locations stimulates job creation and boosts our local construction economy.”
