Angels sold

The Los Angeles Angels have been sold.

Stan Kroenke, owner of the Los Angeles Rams, has purchased controlling interest of the major league ball club, according to multiple reports.

The sale is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027. No official sale price has been announced, but the Los Angeles Times reported that Kroenke paid $3.9 billion for the team, the most ever paid for an MLB franchise.

News of the sale broke Sept. 1.

“The Angels organization is pleased to announce this transaction with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment,” Moreno said in a statement. “The Moreno family has been honored to steward the Angels for 23 years, and we believe with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment’s experience and success they are the best next owner for the franchise.”

KSE also owns the Denver Nuggets of the NBA and the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL. The Angels’ acquisition gives the company controlling interest of teams in all four major professional sports leagues.

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are an Angeles’ Single-A affiliate.
