Alex Armendariz has been named director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Office of Government, Tribal and Community Relations.
Armendariz “will play a central role in strengthening relationships with tribal nations and advancing the university’s commitment to native student success and community engagement,” according to a statement on the university’s website.
In addition to working as a recruiter in Cal State San Bernardino’s Office of Outreach and Student Recruitment, Armendariz has held positions supporting indigenous students and communities. One of those was interim retention coordinator at Cal Poly Pomona’s Native American Student Center, according to the statement.
