Business resources center opens

Beaumont has opened a business resource center that helps entrepreneurs, small businesses and start-up businesses.

The Pass Area Business Hub is a partnership between Mt. San Jacinto College and Riverside County, both of which are trying to improve business in the San Gorgonio Pass Area, according to a statement on Beaumont’s website.

Located at 514 N. Carolina Ave., Riverside County provided $1.7 million to buy the building there, and Beaumont spent $700,000 transforming the structure into a modern business resource center.

The Biz Hub provides access to city services, technical assistance, and information on funding, permitting, workforce training, and networking, among other services.

The Pass Area is a strip of land between the San Bernardino and Coachella valleys that is bordered by the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountains.
