Eastvale looks to host Olympic athletes

Eastvale recently hosted officials from the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee that were looking for places to stay during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

The delegation received a tour of the city Sept. 27 that was put together by the city council and other Eastvale officials, the Corona-Norco Unified School District, the Jurupa Community Services District and Staybridge Suites Hotel, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The visit stressed Eastvale’s amenities and facilities. A decision is not expected soon.

“Our community is honored to be considered by the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee,” said Mayor, Mike McMinn. “Eastvale is a city built on diversity, hospitality, and excellence. We are committed to ensuring that, should they choose Eastvale, we will provide an environment where athletes can thrive as they prepare for the 2028 Games.”

Eastvale incorporated in 2010, covers 13 square miles has nearly 70,000 residents, according to the statement.
