Fajardo named student trustee

Carson Fajardo will serve a two-year term as a student trustee on California State University’s board of trustees.

A student this fall in the Master of Public Administration program at Cal State San Bernardino, Fajardo was appointed recently by Gov. Gavin Newsom and attended his first board meeting this month, according to a statement on the university’s website.

“We are proud of Carson for being appointed to serve as a student trustee,” said Tomás D. Morales, president of Cal State San Bernardino, in the statement. “This appointment reflects his exceptional leadership, dedication to student advocacy and commitment to higher education.”

The 25-member board is responsible for adopting regulations and policies that govern the California State University system.

Fajardo was a Presidential Academic Excellence Scholar and a member of the University Honors Program. He also served as the programming coordinator for the Residence Halls Association, according to the statement.
