Yaamava’ Casino Resort & Casino has been recognized for having a positive impact on the Inland Empire.
The facility owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians was commended recently by casinos.com for its health, education, and housing programs and its philanthropy, according to a statement.
The resort-casino near San Bernardino earlier this year donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to help victims of the Southern California wildfires. It also gave $200,000 to the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House, which provides housing for families of critically ill children being treated at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Local residents were asked to vote for the casino in their region that has done the most good through funding, donations or entertainment. Yamaava’ was one of seven gaming facilities in the United States and Canada to be honored.
“We’re proud to help shine a spotlight on these tribal casinos,” said Lee Gwilliam, senior vice president of casinos.com, in the statement. “These are organizations that go above and beyond to deliver meaningful change to their communities.”
